Miss Earth 2009 to be held in Boracay

The ninth edition of Miss Earth (2009) beauty pageant is set to be held in the majestic island of Boracay. This is the very first time the event will be held outside Metro Manila. Eighty (80) candidates from around the world will attend and compete for the title at the Boracay Ecovillage and Convention Center on November 22. Miss Philippines-Earth 2009 Sandra Seifert from Negros Occidental will represent the country for this year. The reigning Miss Earth Karla Paula Henry is also a Filipina. Miss Earth was initiated and organized to further strengthen the awareness of the people around the world in protecting our Mother Earth. This is considered as the third largestbeauty pageant in the world next to Miss World and Miss Universe.
