Oprah Winfrey revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show that she has a half-sister whose name is Patricia. Patricia had been searching for the identity of the mother who gave her up for adoption when she learned that Oprah is her half-sister. She confirmed that Oprah is her half-sister in 2007. Winfrey was then a little girl living with her father when her mother got pregnant and gave up the baby for adoption. She says she never knew that her mother got pregnant. Oprah and Patricia met on Thanksgiving Day.
